Orlah: the fruits of a newly planted tree are completely forbidden for the first three years. Neta Revai: in the fourth year, the fruits have a special sanctity, in Temple times they were brought to Jerusalem or redeemed with a coin. From the fifth year, fruits may be eaten normally. This teaches patience and trust in God: we wait, sanctify, and only then enjoy the fruits of our labor.
