Can be koshered: metal, glass. Cannot: ceramic, wood, porcelain, Teflon, plastic

Metal and glass utensils CAN be kashered. Ceramic (earthenware), wood, porcelain, Teflon, and plastic CANNOT be kashered because these materials absorb flavors permanently. If a non-kasherable utensil absorbed non-kosher food or was mixed between meat and dairy, it must be discarded or set aside. This is why many kosher kitchens prefer stainless steel and glass.
