Yom Kippur falls on the 10th of Tishrei, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar. It is a 25-hour fast day devoted entirely to prayer, repentance, and spiritual purification. Five pleasures are forbidden: eating/drinking, bathing, wearing leather shoes, anointing with oils, and marital relations.
