When the Egyptians chased the Israelites to the Red Sea, God performed one of the greatest miracles in history, splitting the sea to allow the Israelites to cross on dry land, then closing it upon the pursuing Egyptian army. This event is celebrated in the daily prayers and especially during Pesach.
