    King David was a descendant of Ruth the Moabite convert and Boaz. He was a shepherd boy who defeated Goliath, became a mighty warrior, conquered Jerusalem and made it the capital, united all 12 tribes, and authored much of the Book of Psalms (Tehillim). He is the ancestor of the future Messiah.
