In detail
Havdalah contains four blessings remembered by the Hebrew acronym YaVNeH: (1) Yayin, wine ('Borei pri hagafen'), (2) Besamim: fragrant spices to comfort the soul as the extra Shabbat soul (neshamah yeteirah) departs, (3) Ner, fire (a braided candle with at least 2 wicks, blessing 'Borei me'orei ha'esh'), recalling the tradition that Adam discovered fire after the first Shabbat, (4) Havdalah, the blessing of separation between sacred and mundane.
