How many times is Kiddush recited on Shabbat?

Twice, in the evening and in the morning after returning from prayer

Source: Shulchan Aruch OC 271, 289

    In detail

Kiddush is recited twice on Shabbat: (1) Friday evening before the meal, and (2) Shabbat morning before the daytime meal. The evening Kiddush fulfills the Torah commandment 'Remember the Sabbath day to sanctify it.' It is recited over wine and includes the passage about God resting on the seventh day. The morning Kiddush ('Kiddush Rabbah') is shorter.
