What is the Haftarah? Where is it read from?
A chapter from the Prophets related to the weekly Torah portion, recited at the end of Torah reading
Source: Shulchan Aruch OC 284
In detail
The Haftarah is a selection from the Prophets (Nevi'im) that thematically connects to the weekly Torah portion. It is read after the Torah reading by the person called for Maftir. This practice dates back to a time when Torah reading was forbidden by oppressors, and selections from the Prophets were read instead. Even after the ban was lifted, the practice was retained.
