Q: What blessing is said before pears? And after?

Before: Pri Ha'Etz, after; Borei Nefashot Pears grow on trees and receive 'Borei pri ha'etz' before eating. However, unlike olives, figs, or dates, pears are NOT one of the Seven Species, so the after-blessing is the general 'Borei Nefashot' rather than 'Me'ein Shalosh.' This is a key distinction: all tree fruits get the same before-blessing ('pri ha'etz'), but the after-blessing differs depending on whether the fruit is one of the Seven Species or not.
