What blessing is said before pears? And after?

Before: Pri Ha'Etz, after; Borei Nefashot

    Source: Shulchan Aruch OC 202

    In detail

Pears grow on trees and receive 'Borei pri ha'etz' before eating. However, unlike olives, figs, or dates, pears are NOT one of the Seven Species, so the after-blessing is the general 'Borei Nefashot' rather than 'Me'ein Shalosh.' This is a key distinction: all tree fruits get the same before-blessing ('pri ha'etz'), but the after-blessing differs depending on whether the fruit is one of the Seven Species or not.
